ISO 14001

What is ISO 14001?

ISO 14001 is an international standard through which companies can accredit their commitment to the environment by establishing processes that seek to minimise the environmental risks and impacts associated with the activity carried out.

The Environmental Management System identifies, first of all, the environmental risks that the organisation may incur.

At CTAIMA we are experts in identifying the legal requirements applicable to companies and the implementation of ISO 14001 and EMAS with a 100% success rate in the certifications.

How to achieve ISO 14001 certification?

In order to certify the Environmental Management System according to ISO 14001, it is essential to identify the legal requirements that affect the company. It is important to highlight, in this certification, that the participation of a team with expert legislative knowledge is essential due to the complexity and extension of environmental legislation.

Once the legal requirements have been x-rayed, the organisation must identify the environmental aspects and impacts, risks and opportunities in order to evaluate their impact on the organisation's processes. From here, the next steps must be planning, documentation, implementation, review, revision, correction and, ultimately, certification.

At CTAIMA we offer different levels of service in our consultancy. To help you in your process of implementing this international Standard.
A very exhaustive and parameterised process has allowed us to achieve a 100% success rate in the implementations we have carried out for our clients.

What are the requirements for implementing ISO 14001?

The ISO 14001 standard requires that the environmental aspects and impacts of activities, services, products and processes be identified in order to be able to address the risks and opportunities and thus achieve a better impact on the environment.

The Environmental Management System must generate records, continuously updated, for the monitoring and control of all environmental aspects, legal requirements and risks identified in the previous analysis.

The programme should set objectives and an environmental policy for the organisation and, once established, should be kept up to date.

In any case, it is essential to implement an Environmental Management System:

  • - Appoint a sufficiently trained working team for this purpose.
  • - To make economic and material resources available for a correct implementation.
  • - Access to tools and materials to implement the established methodology.
